why do chicken drumsticks take so long to thaw? I mean seriously...

My house in about 30 minutes:
Hi, honey. Welcome home. Here's some salmonella. Sorry about that, you see I was busy getting ready for hp_kinkfest and forgot to get the drumsticks out of the freezer. but it'll be safe to eat eventually, here's some filthy porn while you wait.

I frequently forget to defrost things. I would never cook a joint from frozen, but anything small, yes! Pork chops, chicken brests, ground beef. Often I'll give them a couple of minutes in the microwave to separate them.

Obviously, no good if you need to marinade or coat the meat, but fine for stir-fry, roast/broil.
