I AM SO BORING!!!! *cries*

I'm trying to pick a layout for gsd_rtfn and I'm just such a flexible squares sort of girl. The gorgeous layout that I have in my personal lj is gorgeous only because it was custom made for me as a gift and I had no say in it. Which is good because clearly I have the most vanilla tastes in layouts ever.

I want something fun, but also easy to read and God, nothing PINK. Why are all the whimsical layouts PINK?

I was all set to load this one in Simple: White'n Blue I think it's lovely!!! but it also made me realise how ~clean~ I like my layout.

My second choice is arctic rash OMG! why so square and blue, maggie???

Any suggestions??? It's for a writing comm so I want it to be fun and welcoming and not too OTT. But not boring... idek.

My only stipulations is I need a layout with a nice side nav for easy access tags and links.

ETA: the two above where a bust! One didn't work with adds (which I need because it's a public comm) and the other had no nav bar!!!

I went with this: gsd_rtfn ... meh. not sure it's right. I want more focus on content and less on the background. *sigh*

I'm giving up for now. been at this for hours.

I like them both. :D Frankly, clean and blue layouts are soothing, easy to read, and pretty. I see nothing wrong with that.

Some of the garish, vibrant, WTF? layouts hurt my eyes and force me to "view in my style" so I can read their stuff in my nice, calm, peaceful BLUE.

Simple and easy to use is best. You can always play around with the headers and such to spice it up a bit. If a journal is too hard on the eyes, I always click the view it in my style option, which takes away from the individuality of a journal, sadly. A clean look will never lead you wrong.

Despite the name, I prefer Arctic Rash. It was easy to read, which is nice. I'm the same. I chose mine because it came with a pretty header and the print was big and the colors not too bright (I mean, mine is brown, so yeah, no brightness here).

I love simplicity! I really love the Simple: White'n Blue because that's such a pretty shade of blue and I like the fonts. :D

I view everything in my own style (I think a lot of people do?) so I have no idea most of the time what a community looks like! I use 'minimalism' if that helps? Or is that only for paid users?

I view everything in my own style too so I didn't even realise my own comm was ugly. lol.

I like the one I finally decided on (though neither of us will likely never see it. *g*)
