This morning I filled the kettle, plugged it in, added the tea bags to the teapot, then immediately poured the cold water from the kettle into the pot. I stared at it for a while trying to figure out exactly what I did wrong.

I then started again by dumping the water from the teapot down the sink and pouring the cold water from the tap INTO THE TEAPOT instead of the kettle.

I think I finally have it down now. *headdesk*

I am going to meme to make myself feel better about how stupid this morning has been. So...

I have resisted this shiny meme because I am so behind on comments. But my career fair is almost submittable (I have title!) and my dark fest is almost submittable (i have ending!) and my hd hols has a full outline (I have plot!) so dammit, I'll meme if I want to.

Ok. Kettle is not yet whistling... am now wondering if I forgot to plug it in. *cries*

ETA - I have tea! delicious, hot, milky tea. and toast and raspberry jam. *happy sigh*

There are days I wish I had a cup of coffee so that I was coherent enough to make it.

My sugar container is next to my coffee one and there are days I thank God it doesn't have a scooper or I swear I'd have put sugar in my coffee filter.

I was out shopping with my daughter yesterday and did something really daft and she pointed it out and I just had to shrug and take the shame. What's even worse it that now I can't remember what it was. Bloody dementia! All I remember is the pitying look on her face.

I am very glad you got it right on the third try! And tea made in a proper teapot.... mmmm lovely. I just this moment made tea in a lovely Denby pot, and have it in an enormous cup and saucer to enjoy with eljay. Delicious.

Ah, that is loads better than the time my aunt added sugar to my salt container and salt to my sugar bowl. Everything I made tasted weird that entire week (until I figured out the reason why the coffee tasted salty). Or the time I wore my t-shirt backwards - the entire day. ;)

I feel your pain. I have an espresso maker, and this morning I put the coffee directly into the filter holder rather than into the filter. Then I stood there watching the coffee run out the bottom, thinking huh? It took a minute to catch on :)
