This is probably not quite what you're looking for, but...you're saying I should watch it? :) I didn't want to when I first heard of it, because I was (am) a huge fan of Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs (the books), and The Silence of the Lambs movie. I'm not sure I want to go back to the Will Graham days (especially with how he turned out in the book). And then I heard that it might not be renewed, but now that's obviously not the case. And several people seem to be having FEELS.

Is it all dark and creepy and psychologically fucked up? Are there serial killers? Because I could totally go for that.

T/J but I think the TV series is more like a remix? It's got canon elements and references but it doesn't follow the timeline and characters are changed around.

Yes! I learnt yesterday that there's a season 2 coming, and I AM SO HAPPY!!!! Mads Mikkelsen is delectable as Hannibal. As I said to moonystone over lunch: you almost want to get eaten by him ;) I really should look for some good Hannibal/Will fic.

Watching. Sad that I don't remember more from when I read all the books as a young teenager (thought they were amazing). My favorite character is Jack. And the stag. Obvs.

Jack, eh? interesting choice. I've really liked what they've done with him. He is certainly self-serving, but he's also aware of it and the 'big picture' of saving lives justifies to him how far he pushes. Also his relationship with his wife added a lot to his character.

This show is eating my brain! I only watched it because of all the gifs that I saw on Tumblr. I never thought I'd like it, because I have such a low tolerance for gore/horror, but it's just so damn good.

And my feels from the last few episodes: Hannibal calls Will his friend! Telling Will he's glad he's alive! A frantic Will not remembering coming to Hannibal's office, and Hannibal talking him down! Hannibal getting Will to agree not to reveal Abigail's secret! And, without going into spoiler's, last night's episode, and Hannibal's manipulation. JFC!

I don't think I should watch Hannibal. The Silence of the Lambs scared the life out of me, when I was a teenager.
But I'm a huge Mads Mikkelsen fan, so I could probably follow some of the fandom stuff. At least the gifs and art... Mads is extremely good at being creepy and stonefaced at the same time. It's a gift.

Like dreams of just walking into my kitchen and Mads was making dinner and I would wake up in cold sweat (like, not joking here, i was so freaked out). I wasn't sleeping properly for a week.

I actually started watching the show to get it OUT of my head. Now I'm okay with it all... (knowledge is power or something?) I can't look at the gore and I actually fastforward the murder scenes.

LOVE LOVE LOOOVE Hannibal. I was in from day one because the casting made me laugh. Back in my LOTR days I wrote a pseudo-crack fic for a friend with Viggo Mortensen/Mads and Orlando Bloom/Hugh Dancy (there's a story behind the pairings, trust me - lol) and Mads was odd and quirky and always mixed up Orlando and Hugh because they looked so much alike to him and kept calling him Mr. Darcy and Hugh was just all, HANDS. WHAT ARE YOU, WEIRDO?? Also the title - Viggo's Meat Pit - takes on a whole new meaning now...lolol.

Anyway, SO FUCKING HAPPY IT GOT RENEWED!!
