Summary: Prince Arthur has spent his eighteenth year in a drunken haze of public debauchery, and after the latest round of incriminating photographs, King Uther is fed up. Though magic is outlawed and Magic Users are generally distrusted, Uther secretly hires a young sorcerer to keep Arthur in line, much to Arthur's chagrin. But what starts out as an antagonistic relationship becomes much more as Arthur, increasingly drawn to his secretive young warden, begins to suspect there is something rotten in the state of Great Britain. Modern Royal AU.

This one another great Royal AU (merlin_holidays had a great year for them!) This one was really clever with an interesting and complex backstory involving politics and magic, one of my favourite things. It’s also got the bodyguard trope which is so hot. But very quickly it’s obvious that there is so much more going on. Do read the warnings, there are bits of Merlin’s backstory that might be upsetting to some folks.

ALSOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! paperlegends opened writer sign ups yesterday and holy shit. Anyone who thought that Merlin fandom was going to roll over and die post-finale were very very mistaken. Even with the large number of dropouts I expect (let's be honest here) 1000+ comments in 24hrs on a sign up post is basically FUCKING AWESOME. !!!!

I can't believe how many sign-ups there are for PL. It's insane (in a very, very good way).
