J: This is the scene where Colin, uh, Merlin feeds Arthur. I’ll just let that.. hang in the air. Uuum.
K: (laughing) I will point out, Alex Vlahos is lost in laughter listening to this! He can’t quite believe what’s coming out of your mouth, I think!!

J: Oh, this is actually a great scene (Gwen + Gaius, Gwen guessing about Merlin’s magic)
K: Aah, Angel looks beautiful.
J: -where the wife finds out the real truth (!)
K: …………………….. Oh dear.

J: … Oh. Now Merlin is… giving Arthur a drink.
K: (chuckles) I think he’s just giving him a drink there.
J: They did actually just spend the whole episode on this journey, it’s quite-
K: ‘Feeding’ each other.
J: -quite simple. Yeah I don’t- the ‘feeding’ thing, I think, is in your mind, Katie.
K: No.. you just said it there.. I’m giving back to you what you said. … Don’t try and blame this on me!! For a start, you guys came up with the episodes!

K: (laughing) Oh my god. (laughing more) Do you know how much trouble we’re going to be in, when people are saying ‘this was a beautiful moment and all you guys can do is laugh!’?
J: Well I think you need both sides of it. And to be fair, we did, very genuinely, think of the episode as a love story between two men.

J: The secret, that he’s carried all this time.
K: What’s the secret?
J: The secret is that he has magic.
K: NO.
J: Which some people say is a sort of metaphor.
K: A metaphor for what!?
J: For his.. you know.. sexuality!
K: ..I don’t think so. I think that it’s entirely-
J: I think that’s read in by them, isn’t it?
K: Um. I think it’s .. entirely what it seems like on screen, Julian. I don’t think you put anything else in there.
J: And Arthur doesn’t react in that way, you know.
K: Well obviously not.
J: If his friend - best friend - had told him that he was - had magic..
K: How should he have reacted?
J: Well he reacts in a sort of emotional and hurt way.
K: Well -
J: You (dont?) have to ask why that is..
K: Well I have to watch it, cause I haven’t seen this. So I don’t know.
