Rec spam? sorry? I’m trying to get recs out before Christmas holidays hit and I’m even further behind.

Stiles is yanked up to his feet so fast that his world spins and his shoulder aches and he’s a second from screaming police brutality! when he gets a good look at the cop’s face.
Holy shit. Stiles was just tackled to the ground by a fucking underwear model with a badge.

this is an au with Stiles having lost his Dad and not his Mom, and somewhere along the way the mix of anger and grief and lack of discipline in his home and the local law enforcement looking the other way out of pity, Stiles ends up quite a trouble maker. Nothing ~bad, but getting dangerous, getting out of hand. And Stiles is getting too old for this shit - or so thinks Officer Hale, the new cop in town. Both Derek and Stiles characterisations in this fic really rang true for me, despite the AU. They worked. And the result is incredibly hot UST between a reckless, troubled youth and a cop with a big heart but a mountain of his own issues. (no underage naughtiness occurs, btw)

This is a difficult rec. I’m not typically one to enjoy OTT bamf-ness. Stiles has plenty enough ~specialness~ to call him a MarySue. That said, I can find a well written fic with a Mary Sue quite enjoyable to read. I like powerful characters and ~specialness~ as a guilty pleasure though they are usually paired with bad writing. But this has good writing and all kinds of guilty-pleasureness to it. This might sound a bit like an anti-rec, but it’s not. If you enjoy OTT bamf-Stiles, I felt this one was quite entertaining to read.

I think my biggest problem with OTT bamf with characters is it usually means OOC. but since you recced it, I'll give it a chance.

I think you are right. I'm not sure I can judge properly if Stiles is OOC. I really liked the storytelling so I didn't back-click as I normally would have if we suddenly find out that Stiles is actually a prince or whatever... (which isn't in this fic. thank god)

But something about the fic worked for me, when normally it wouldn't have? IDEK!!! I've actually spent an strangely long amount of time thinking about why I liked this fic. LOL.
