In other news... Fandoming is hard. Straddling three fandoms is super hard. Trying to figure out how to best enjoy fandom across lj, a03, tumblr and twitter is mind boggling.

That said... if you are ever looking for me in places other than here, I am marguerite26 on Tumblr and @MaggiePiez on twitter. (both are pretty lame and random, but there I am). fyi, i keep a tight follow list on twitter and i may follow/unfollow on tumblr based on no other reason than the need to keep my timelines WS and relevant to my interest. these places aren't my main fandom experience, that still rests with lj.

Straddling fandoms is difficult, and though I've been doing it for a while, I don't really have any advice to give you, because I suspect I do so poorly. In the end, I usually just read a bunch of things from one of my fandoms in a spurt as it strikes my fancy, and keep up a to-read list for the others in the meantime. It's a bit (ha) inefficient, to be sure, but it works for me. It does help that I can only ever manage to write for one fandom at a time. One set of characters constantly in my head is enough.

Also, I've followed you on Tumblr (deepfriedcynic).

And I agree with the fic rec! Great stuff.

Gorgeous vid, makes me crave watching some TW. Is it too early for a S2 rewatch?

I'm clinging to LJ like a fangirl drowning in fandom possibilities. I use AO3 for reading/downloading fic (still prefer commenting on LJ, though), use Twitter for keeping in touch with the f-list and occasionally scroll through Tumblr tags in search of some pretty. I doubt I'll actually start tumbling, though. I even have a DW account but it's empty and I only use it for commenting on a friend's entries (and sign up for a challenge, apparently).

It's brilliant that fandom is so diverse and that there are so many ways and places for everyone to 'do fandom' their way. Sometimes I just wish it'd be possible to 'merge' it all into one, would be easier to follow/keep track of stuff and bring more people together.

And I'm only handling one fandom full time, can't imagine handling three. O.O

That kind of conversation wouldn't be possible on either Twitter or Tumblr. I love Twitter and enjoy the pretty that Tumblr often provides but I'll stubbornly cling to LJ because I want the conversation.
