Teen Wolf Season Finale Thoughts

I tried to write up awesome thoughts about last night’s season finale of Teen Wolf and have totally failed. Instead you get this bit of randomness


1) it needs to be noted that Faith called it last week that Jackson would turn into a butterfly. No wings for us though. Boo for that. :(


2) Also Awesome lines are awesome:

Isaac: Who is he?
Scott: That’s Peter, Derek’s uncle. A little while back he tried to kill us all so we set him on fire and Derek slashed his throat.
Peter: Hi.

3)I read this fascinating post by suaine on tumblr and I loved this bit especially:

I have feelings about how the how parallels its couples, how it draws out these stories of personal growth and destiny. Because this is truth for me: Allison and Scott are meant to be together, even if they have to learn who they are first. Lydia and Jackson are meant to be together, even if they have to learn who they are first. And, well, Stiles and Derek are meant to be together, even if they have to learn who they are first. It’s not easy and it may not always be healthy or good, but that’s the fun of watching them all grow.

I think all these couples, whether they end up together or not are interesting because they are all works in progress. There a bit of mess, either because the people in them are a mess or the situation they are in is a mess or they have a long road to travel before they are ‘whole’ enough to ever be in any kind of healthy relationship. There are no violins here, not really. They are all just a bunch of messed up characters who have all these feelings for other messed up characters. And maybe they figure it all out as a couple or maybe they won’t but they make me want to keep watching no matter how it turns out.

4) The hero was the hero. \o/ Way to knock it out of the park Scott! When Scott revealed his plan, I jumped off the couch and fist pumped. SCOTT!!! You bad ass hero. MOUNTAIN ASHHHHHH nicely played, writers. That the crude and OBVIOUS pills of doom plot device was turned it on its head with the nice subtle mountain ash stuff from the first half of the season and the smelling cancer from last ep. You impressed me because everyone had theories and they were all good theories and they were all wrong. Well done.

5) Chris Argent deserves to be the new fandom bicycle. MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

6) Peter is such a sassy bitch. I love him. Never be redeemed, Peter. Just sit in the shadows and quietly fuck everyone over using your witty repartee and oddly helpful advice to hide your evilness.

7) This is a hilarious episode recap.

8) Misc: Lydia knows everything \o/ Jackson didn’t die \o/ Scott and Allison have figured out that they need a bit of time to deal with everything. Thank God. They really do. D: And ending with Scott/Stiles banter was brilliant. \o/

LOVED IT. Cannot wait for S3. In the meantime, bring on all the fic!

I started this post so many times it was crazy. And still, I read this now and I'm like I didn't even mention Isaac (Freaked out when Allison sliced him up. D:D: NOT COOL GIRL) or theories on Boyd and Erica!

I hope that Dr. Deaton and Ms. Morell's characters are expanded; and it is looking like they will be which is EXCITE. Stop hurting Isaac, he's just got a face and a story that makes you want to cuddle him in a blanket and not let the cruel world hurt him more.

We do. He was pleasingly shirtless a lot this season, got to admit.

Also, re: Daddy Argent, I have it on good authority that someone is writing a Daddy Argent/Derek fic that you'll love, I'm sure. (Obviously not me though because I like my Derek with Stiles, please and thank you.) I kinda want fic where Mama McCall is like FREAKING OUT and they meet and Daddy Argent fucks her up against a car or something. /what.

I want to love Peter but I can't. He makes me laugh but I'm literally just like waiting for him to hurt Derek again and Derek doesn't need help getting hurt, he's got pack issues and family issues and shit, boys got issues onto of other issues. SO IT HURTS ME. But he's entertaining none the less.

The Stilinski scenes were amazing this episode and definitely made up for the fact that there weren't a lot of Stiles in the action scenes. As you can imagine, I cried a lot thinking about Stiles and his feelings and his dad.

JACKSON. STOP BEING SO PRETTY. STOP IT.

I think this finale was the first one in a while, in any fandom, that left me feeling happy. We know bad times are ahead, but it ends on a happy note and I really liked that.
I agree, Sassy Peter is awesome. I hope he stays for a while, even if he is evil.

I know, we only see a few seconds of him, but I'm loving wolfy Jackson.
It left me happy, which given my other major fandom, never happens, so I was smiling so hard watching Scott and Stiles practice. The lack of cliffhanger was so nice.

And I just remembered this scene when they're in the morgue and Scott told his mom to zip the bag with Jackson. So brave XD (Sorry, I'm sitting with my friends and reading fics and apparently our brains stopped working some time ago and everything is so funny)

Absolutely loved the finale! The only thing I kinda side-eyed was when Scott grabbed Allison's hand but the break-up scene later made up for it. And Gerard messed up Stiles' pretty face for what?

My reaction for the whole ep was basically, "Wait... Jackson's dead? He can't be dead! Oh yesssss he's aliiiiiive!! Looking very hot in the half-lizard makeup. Wings?! WHAT?!!??!!? THEY KILLED JACKSON!!!!! Oh damn. That's a gorgeous shot right there..." *stares at gif forever*

I'm confused about how I feel... even after a day of thinking about it. TBH, I've been inching closer and closer to Sterek (though I'm still open to other pairings), and had been excited to see if they'd do anything to open up that possibility. I also had this narrative in my head from epi 11 where Derek saves Stiles from Evil Grandpa, and I was disappointed that didn't happen. (lol at myself for thinking my headcanon would actually come to be).

On a more positive note, I adored Stiles' entrance in the Jeep and YAY Jackson is a woof! :D

I don't think going the direction of sterek at this point in the season would have worked at all, not with the story they had to tell last night. I have hopes that if they are going that direction that they take their time about it and send a good chuck of S3 working towards it with a delicate hand. There are so few well done gay couples, if they go their I really want them to do it right. :)

I totally agree that if Sterek does happen, it should be done with care. I just wanted something... a little look. A fist-bump, hey, bro, way to fuck up Gramp's plans Is that too much to ask? lol. (Answer: yes)

As for my scenario, I guarantee fic is being written at this very moment, but I *do* have another idea... I kinda want to see pining!Derek. Most of the fic I've read has been skewed to the other side. We shall see!

What you didn’t know is that Stiles and Derek were supposed to get even closer in Season 2 than you saw on screen. Davis tells us that the scene where Stiles and Derek are paralyzed on the floor, with Stiles lying completely on top of Derek’s body, was going to take an undeniable turn.

“They would’ve gone bonkers for the scene that I had originally planned,” Davis laughs. “You can print this. The idea was Stiles paralyzed on top of Derek, and Stiles says to Derek, ‘Wait a minute! I can still move my tongue.’ So the scene would have been Stiles pushing his tongue against Derek’s face, trying to get himself off using just his tongue.”

Trying to get himself off of Derek, you guys. Simmer down.

“Eventually, the tongue ends up in Derek’s ear, and Derek’s saying, ‘Stop. Just stop. Just stop,’” Davis tells us. “Dylan loved that idea when I pitched it to him.”

I have indeed; last night when I came back! And OHHHHH, that was fantastic! And I agree with so many things you say above; there were beautiful and awesome scenes and heartbreaking moments and people being fanstastic, but probably my favourite moment is Peter and Derek watching the animated .gif and then Derek flinching back with that completely disturbed look on his face. That was hilarious. Only to be rivaled by supernatural superstrong werewolf Scott and his werewolf buddy urging completely human mother McCall to 'zip the bag; zip, ZIP!'.

Why is it over nowwww? :(
