I’m running off in about an hour to my parent’s cottage and the wild land of dial-up only. I will be completely MIA until Monday. Have a lovely weekend!

For now, a mixed bag of stuff I need to tell you about before I leave:

I read one original story and one remix last night and printed a bunch off to take with me.

I know I read the original fic back in that blur of first days of inhaling every Merlin/Arthur fic I could find and I don’t know if I comment or ever recced it, but it was damn brilliant. Lovely concept and a fun, fun story. The original is in Merlin’s POV and the author just nails his struggles at ‘handling’ a poppy-high Arthur for 7 nights straight. The remix is the mirror image of the fic through Arthur’s POV. Excellent premise as the POV completely changes the readers experience with the fic and ultimate build to the climax. I read them back to back and thoroughly enjoyed the comparison. The dialogue was naturally repetitive, but the fic being turned on its head more than made up for any ‘I just read this!’ feel. Regardless of how you choose to read them they are both fabulous reads. Enjoy.

This has also made me very excited and not a little petrified of trying to write my own hd_remix. *wibbles*

I want to find my remix writer and snog the everloving crap out of her. Her fic is such an improvement on mine. I can't even cope. I've participated in a ton of exchanges over the years, with this name and other names and other fandoms, and this has to be my all time favorite fic ever written for me. It's so good.

They did a WONDERFUL job. I have a remix coming up and *flails* I can only hope for something so well done. :D

Her fic is such an improvement on mine.
Now, tbh, I can't agree. Having read them side to side, they are both endearing. And all the better for each other, imo. But one thing I liked the best was how balanced they were. They felt like a match, as though the same author could have written both. (if you don't mind me saying!)

Everything you could hope for in a remix! :D
