I hated OotP. HATED it. I cried for like ... ever. I remember sitting on my deck in the bright sunshine with a box of kleenex just bawling until I couldn't read anymore.
Having
markreadshp pop up on my flist these last couple weeks, constantly reminding me of the 'yes, it can just keep getting worse' of OotP... it's making me all emo.
And now: CHAPTER 35: BEYOND THE VEIL.
I want to flippantly think: that's only the beginning. But that would really undermine the tragedy that is Sirius's death which really was something that you needed to live and dwell on for a bit and let it sink in before you could accept the tragedies to come.

Hadn't this poor kid been through enough, lost enough? Made me wonder if JKR was some kind of sadist. Made me wonder whether I might not finish. But here I am. Cheer up darling.
Peace,
Bubba
