I’m catching up on all the recs I wanted to do from my reading spree before I went on hiatus. All Merlin/Arthur. Several of them are from The ABCs of M/A kink. So ... KINKY! read the warnings. :D

Until the Pieces Fit by anon [Nc-17] (14k)

This fic comes with warnings for dub-con and homophobia. Personally, I’d add humiliation and non-con to that list, just to be safe. I had to read this twice to enjoy it. It was overwhelming on the first read, hot and uncomfortable and very challenging for me. Second time through, I was able to see past my own issues with humiliation as a kink and really love what the author did here. Not necessarily a characterisation of Arthur I fully understand, but still an amazing read.

ENEMAS!!! Just so we’re clear. What can I say? If you’re tempted to see how anyone could possibly make enemas in any way sexy, then give it a try. The author does an amazing job with this kink. Full-on in character, well written and hot.also... so wrong. Lol.

Summary: Original Prompt: Arthur/Merlin, Knights/Merlin, gangbang. Arthur likes to watch other guys do Merlin. When the knights go on expeditions (war/rescue/hunting/missions, whatever), Arthur likes to pimp Merlin out to the men and watch them use him. Can be PWP, can be angst, just make it filthy and hot plz!

Really, really filthy smut. While ‘gangbang’ is a squick of mine (even the term makes my bile rise), I loved this dirty, dirty fic. Merlin is not degraded, he is fully consenting and everyone seems to enjoy the fact that Arthur decided to share for a moment. Do read the warnings, though. :D

Tinkle, Tinkle, Little Star by anon [NC-17]
Summary: [mine] Now, though, Arthur narrows his eyes, saying, ‘There you are, Merlin,’ in his most infuriatingly condescending tone, and Merlin tries to look as non-magical as possible. Then Arthur starts pushing him towards the bed, as though he has any business feeling that comfortable in Merlin’s room, and Merlin thinks, oh, no, you don’t, you fucking arsehole. He’s really not in the mood. Also, he really needs to pee, which is why he put the book down in the first place.

WATERSPORTS! Just so we’re clear. It’s a kink of mine when it’s done well and I think this author nailed it. Excellent exploration of the struggle between self-control and release, and in this case the pleasure that release (in all variations) can give. Arthur pushing Merlin to the brink and not backing down, not humiliating him but pushing him past his boundaries was incredibly hot.

Arthur and the Real Boy by frantiscsga [NC-17] (16k)
Summary: For the kinkme_merlin prompt: Merlin is an indie geek who works at a used books, cd and record store. (And by indie geek anon would like the whole stereotype. Listens to weird rock bands, read obscure books, big black framed glasses.)

A fic that will just warm your heart -- a sweet coming together of opposites, a nice slow progression of their relationship. A fun journey on the bumpy road to love.

The One Where Arthur Sells Tongue B/C Being Rich Is Hard Life by derryere [NC-17]

BEST KISSING EVER WRITTEN. Um, yeah. That’s about it. Long, hot, kissing with just enough backstory to making the kissing even longer and hotter. Like an instruction manual on how to write kissing as if it’s fucking.

Summary: Written for this kinkme_merlin prompt: Merlin is an emo/scene kid. Arthur is a jock with a secret kink for emo/scene kids. They meet in a club and chaos ensues. Privately referred to as, "Merlin and Arthur are full of feelings."

I ADORED this fic. Just devoured it. Merlin was so damn prickly and hurt and vulnerable. *squishes him* and Arthur just stood there and didn’t walk away when he really, really could have. Fantastic romantic tale of two complete opposites. *happy sigh*

Under the Tuscan Sun by lisztful [NC-17] (18k)
Summary: When Arthur loses his home to his cheating husband, the last place he expects to find another is on a lesbian tour of Tuscany. That's not all he finds, either. Complete with lessons learned the hard way, well-adusted friends, gelato, true love, and maybe just a little bit of destiny.

Absolutely delightful fic. A charming setting (I do love Tuscany) and a very sweet Arthur. Another Lance as a fanon!Blaise Zabini but he serves the story well as a minor character. Merlin is love in this. ♥

Users are Losers by derryere
Summary: written for KMM prompt: AU future!fic - Merlin's a whiz-kid chemistry student at uni who mixes/grows/magics drugs to pay the bills. Arthur's a new client who's hesitant about the product, so Merlin agrees to sample with him. Massive bonus points for touchy-feely hallucinating!Arthur and composed!Merlin.

sexy, sexy, sexy. Blissed out Arthur is just... yeah. Merlin didn’t stand a chance.

I will add these all to my big old rec list asap with cute little hearts to say they are new... or something. :D

I'm kind of sucked in. I'm currently reading the Student Prince and it's taking me a while because it's a FRICKEN novel! (I'm secretly nervous and afraid something terrible is going to happen to split them apart. It wasn't a bad ending was it?)

I haven't been this into a fandom in a long long time. I'm so excited! Really! I blame it partially on you. Partially on the lovely actors who play Merlin and Arthur. ;)

hee! You will find 90% of all Merlin/Arthur fics to be cheesy and uplifting and yet I don't find that annoying at all for some reason. :D The two I recced you separately (Warlock and A Chuisle) are really the only Merlin fics I've read that are brooding and dark.
