The results are up for week 2 of [livejournal.com profile] next_gen_ldws. Thanks to everyone who voted. If you haven't yet, go check out the great drabbles. It was a fantastic week, my favourite was in fact the winner: #7 Moonlight Sonata by [livejournal.com profile] loony4lupin. But yeah, at least five other drabbles were very close seconds.

My entry:

This week's prompt was Victoire Weasley and wolf charm

He's Worth It

"Be careful, ma petite," her mother had said. "That one has wolf's blood."

Victoire had her rebuttal at the ready. "And Papa?"

"It is not the same. I loved him first." Her mother's eyes were bright as she stroked Victoire's hair. In a cracked whisper, she added, "It is not a life I would choose for you. He will hurt you; he cannot help it."

He was trying to be gentle, but the moon was only a day off full. Fuelled with teenage lust and preternatural hunger, he pinned her to a desk in an abandoned classroom.

One hand held her down by the back of her neck, the other bruised her hip as he rutted into her. The unfinished wood scratched her cheek raw with each punishing thrust.

His needy grunts drowned out her sobs.

Back in the Ravenclaw Tower, she showered until the water ran cold.

She stood in front of the mirror, naked and shivering. A small purple-blue wolf bloomed just above her cleavage. She ran a finger across the bruise and more tears dripped off her trembling jaw.

It was proof, even more than the pendent he'd given her. He loved her. He was worth it.

She said it again and again, just to be sure she didn't forget.

I loved your fic, although I also voted for Moonlight Sonata. We're such slashers at heart!

I had a horrible Mother's Day last year, so I can commiserate. I just wanted to kill my kids by the end of the day. They were really insensitive and hurtful. This year was better, but I still couldn't get them to clean up after dinner. *headdesk*

Moonlight Sonata was great. I liked it better, too. :D

Sorry to hear about last year. yikes! Mother's Day wasn't so much the kids fault this year. By 8am, I had a broken water heater (I discovered when I went to shower!) and the eldest had a stomach bug... also discovered the hard way. ugh. A bazillion loads of laundry and scrubbing puke from the couch... not exactly breakfast in bed. :/
