I've been trying to find the time to do a rec post and failing miserably! But I really want to get something out before the weekend, so this is quick and dirty folks but with the best intentions behind it.

From [livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup:

Title: Alpha and Omega
Team: AU
Author: thesamanthahope
Prompt: 21. A butterbeer a day keeps the mediwizard away.
Wordcount: ~8000
Rating: R
Warnings: Non-graphic sex, angst, character death (not Draco or Harry)
Summary: Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end ("Closing Time" by Semisonic)

Generally, illness fics are not my thing. Since the neither the summary nor the warnings said 'illness!fic' I had already printed it before I realised or I likely would not have read it. And what a shame that would have been! It was lovely. The ordeal of treating a dieing loved-one was treated with dignity, respect and humour. The entire fic was beautifully done. I cannot believe it has so few comments. o.O

From the Snarry-a-thon, (you need to be a member of [livejournal.com profile] snape_potter to view the naughty stuff). It is very worth it. And yes, I read Snarry. Not often, but when excellent fics are recced to me, I will usually take a look regardless of the pairing. And the quality of the fics coming out to this fest are fantastic. And not to mention the art! *melts*

ART:

Title: Wormwood and Asphodel NWS!
Rating: NC-17
Summary: This is my hommage to Klimt's frieze "Ode To Joy"
This art is glorious! The colours and the curves and … Harry's cock. LoL. But seriously, a masterpiece.

And really, all the art has been fantastic. Here's a link to the week 1 summary which has an easy link a bunch of fabulous art.

FIC:

Title: Seven Steps to Heaven
Other pairings/threesome: HG/RW
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 16,863
Summary: Severus should have died in the shrieking shack and gone on to enjoy a relaxing death in hell - or heaven. However, although he managed the first task, he fell short at the second. Now he's stuck in the land of the living, invisible to all but one person: Harry Potter.

Wonderfully written piece. A pleasure to read.

Title: An Awkward Customer
Rating: NC-17
Word count: ~10,000
Summary: Snape can't figure out why Potter is hanging around his shop.

The banter in this fic is love. A light and funny fic, cleverly written with a perfect Snape and Harry dynamic. Harry's ridiculously casual 'and to take you to dinner' and Snape's determination to ignore the offer is adorable.

I'm so glad you decided to do recs for Snarry. There is some really great stuff coming out of that fest, and I'd hate for people to miss out. And QUITE A LOT of it is NC-17, so hopefully folks will take your advice to become a member. (they won't be able to see Harry's cock, otherwise *g*)

I, too enjoyed Alpha and Omega by one of my lovely Team AU co-captains [livejournal.com profile] thesamanthahope. I would not have thought I'd be quite up, yet, for a fic with dying loved ones and Hospice workers, but I didn't have any trouble with it. And if I can handle it, then anyone can handle it. So don't be afraid of the term "illness fic", people! Go read it!

Thank YOU for reccing them first to me. I wouldn't have been following the fest if you hadn't poked me to.

I was so surpised at how few comments Alpha and Omego received compared to the other two that day. I assume people are wary of the angst. Too bad.

Yes you do! And not just because you may or may not read and like my fic (if it's posted, which I won't comment on either way). ;)

I have read a similar fic on the Quidditch Pitch to Seven Steps to Heaven. In the one i read the resurection stone was used to bring Snape back to life, with some help from Harry, the Malfoy family and some very dark magic.

I just had sticky on the QP and the story i'm talking about is called Blood and Memories by Ricky A.

Your summaries of these fic's have piqued my interest so I am going to join the snape_potter comm and see what else is on offer.

YES! It did remind me of Blood and Memories by rickey_a! One of my favourite drapery fics. :D

Hope you find more to enjoy. A few others I've read: The Man Who, and The Plant and The GL were all great.

Meg,

can't get to An Awkward Customer... I'm not much of a Snape/Harry lover so didn't want to join the community, suggestions? *thanks*
