My last set of recs before reveals, I think. There have been a few fics that were heavy on the angst posted this week. You likely won’t find them here. I wasn’t in the mood to read anything heart-wrenching and there was plenty happy stuff to pick from.
You will think once you read my recs, that I was awfully free with the ♥s this round. But the last group of fics posted have truly been astonishing and should not be missed. This fandom has a group of incredibly talented and diverse artists and writers and this fest really brings out the best in everyone. If you were looking for me to help you choose which 20-30k fic to read, you are out of luck. Read them all. They are fabulous. :D

Summary: War has brought them together, for a fleeting moment.
Rating: R for two bloody scenes
Warning(s): character death, possible major character death (depending on individual interpretation), blood in two scenes (pages 7 and 11, possible to skip if you click really fast), dark
Epilogue compliant? No. Not even DH compliant.
The art is amazingstunningincrediblemovingheartwrenchinggorgeous. But the curse and the details of the AU were fascinating. And the animation paired with the art made for an wonderful experience.

Title: Once Upon A Time, Yesterday ♥ ♥ ♥
Summary: "You've always been obsessed with Malfoy, Harry. That should probably tell you something."

Epilogue compliant?: Oh, so very, but perhaps with a bit of filling-in-the-blanks.

A lovely story, very well told. The writing is crisp and easy yet wonderfully moving. I love the ‘mature’ version of each of the characters, everyone is interesting and well-rounded from Harry to the Epilogue kids.

Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, possibly many people/Boris Johnson, but let’s not go there.
Summary: Harry is loaned to the Muggle government to assist relations between the two governments after the London bombings. When his counterpart in the Communications team comes to him with evidence of a plot to expose wizarding Britain, he is all ears. And only in part because the messenger has such a familiar voice.
Rating: PG
Warning(s): The promptee requested Draco dealing with the Muggle world, hence there is an awful lot of it!
Epilogue compliant? What is this epilogue of which you speak?
Word Count: ~23,500
I adore, adore, adore this fic. It is funny and clever and made me smile from beginning to end. This one I shall keep in my top drawer of my nightstand and read over and over. If I am not already, I will be stalking this author post-reveal.

Warning(s): None really, bare chests, boy kissing and prettiness.

This is a series of incredibly gorgeous panels. The Draco in the second one of the group made my heart skip a beat. And the last panel hand me cheering!!! Great stuff.

Title: The Potter-Malfoy Problem ♥ ♥ ♥
Summary: The room of requirement's gone mad — at least, that's what Harry thinks. There's no way that Draco Malfoy 'requires' him, of all people, but why does it keep dragging Harry there like he's some kind of furniture, every time Malfoy enters it? Throw in Pansy the pervert and a clipboard-wielding Hermione, and things can only go from bad to worse. And that's not even mentioning the pirates . . .
Rating: NC-17
Warning(s): Hot sexin' (om nom nom) of both a top!Harry and top!Draco variety, sort-of voyeurism, bad language, a dash of girl-on-girl snogging and blatant abuse of the prompt 'pirates' to get Draco in a dress.
Epilogue compliant? Definitely not :D

This is the ultimate!classic!Hogwarts fic. It could have been written years ago, except that it is DH compliant and really uses the details of canon to move the plot. But oh! how the concept is classic. The RoR keeps popping Harry into the room when ever Draco enters it (even if he’s in the bath). The sex and UST is hot enough to be a fabulous PWP, but a lovely plot sneaks in there and rounds the whole things out. But wow, it is yummy. Terrific read.

Summary: Simple moments that might seem inconsequential are the building blocks of a greater whole.
Rating: Hard R
Warning(s): Implied Het, Non-Evil!Ginny, distinct scenes spanning twenty-five years
Epilogue compliant? Yes

A sweet fast-paced fic that takes you through 25 years quickly but still allows you to really get absorbed in the emotions of it all. A nice take on Draco and Harry able to become friends for years before anything else.

This is an adorable oblivious!Harry who is entirely obsessed and can’t see the forest for the trees. I can’t help but smile every time I think back on it.

This is a really interesting Teddy. He is talented and well liked but also faulted. He is too young to be a professor at Hogwarts (at 23) and he really feels the pressure. His attraction to 17yr old James only complicates everything. I really enjoyed the complexity of Teddy’s struggles and good/bad decisions. Also the smokin’ hot sex, too.
