More Merlin recs...

I buggered up my shoulder yesterday. IDEK!!! Possibly the ergonomics of my laptop keyboard. *meep* too much playing on lj! I’m buying a new keyboard for my computer this afternoon so hopefully there will be lezz crazy zpellingz around here. :P

In the meantime, I might need to avoid typing on my laptop and give my shoulder a rest. :/ Sorry – I know I owe replies to the very informative comments on mead yesterday! You guys know so much stuff! ♥

Anyone who knows me from HP fandom likely knows that Age Disparity is one of my biggest kinks. UNF!!! I miss it in Merlin. SO. MUCH. I could write a lot on that topic (and I actually did and just deleted it because La!!! This is a rec not a sneak peek into my kinks!) This fic has that fabulous age disparity dynamic while not mucking with canon. It’s a Future!fic with Merlin being immortal (or ageing really slowly) so that when Arthur is 44, Merlin still appears 19. It’s short (and what I wouldn’t give for it to be 50k???) but it’s so well done. *reads and re-reads* I need more fic like this. *flails*

Summary: Merlin manages to get himself banished along with Gwaine in 3x04.

This is a wonderfully done look at Merlin and Gwaine leaving Camelot together post 3.04. They are tender and sweet together, and I love how the author plays ‘The Arthur Factor.’ Merlin is still torn and a little heartbroken about having to leave Camelot and his destiny and Arthur. Gwaine understands him, and never pushes. And the fic takes us (and Merlin) on the full round trip back to Arthur. Very satisfying. Though I’d be happy to see a ridiculously long sequel to this.

I am really glad that I'm no longer bothering to try to be spoiler free. I can only assume there isn't a single person in Merlin fandom attempting to avoid this new pic.

This isn't addressed to anyone in particular as there must have been a half dozen spoilery posts with The Epic Pic of Spoilery Awesome for the Merlin series finale pop up on my flist un-cut this afternoon.

I've been high as a kite for the last few hours and it ain't gonna stop anytime soon.

Though for anyone out there who doesn't want to see it? You might need to stay off LJ for the next 3 weeks. :/
