So deliciously kinky and full of emotion and just enough jealousy to heighten the hotness factor through the roof. *bookmarks-forever*

Summary: Arthur has the Fisher King's trident, so why does he feel like the quest is a failure? Set during episode 3.08.

A delicious threesome that really explores the dynamic between these characters. We get Arthur’s perspective of Merlin/Gwaine – which is a favourite kink of mine, but we also get a touch of epicness and destiny that was hinted at with Courage, Strength and Magic which raises this all above a simple PWP.

Summary: Prompt: Using Samhain to also symbolise the end of Uther's rule and the beginning of Arthur's, which includes hiding in corn fields.

A super short fic that is brilliantly written, not a word wasted and all the intensity and emotion that a truly skilled author can pack into a 1k fic. Set in the days before Uther’s death, while Arthur waits and worries about the kind of king he will be. Amazing fic.

Coming of Age by sebastiansais [NC-17] (19k)
Summary: Arthur decides he wants to be better.

Magical Modern AU. Wonderfully done, full of angst and misunderstandings. Arthur is a prat and really quite clueless how badly he treats people. Merlin loves him despite all that and Arthur is clueless about that too. Then he figures out the first part and not the second – and goes on a character journey to become a better man. This fic also has wonderful world building with a modern world that acknowledges magic and 'accepts' it in varying degrees. There is complicated fight for magical-people's rights -- which Arthur attempts to champion, but struggles to find the correct way to manage that while respecting a community that he is not a part of.

It's Not the Time or the Place by picayochan [PG13] (4k)

Summary: Arthur wages a one-man war against an enchanted tree. Merlin thinks it's a bad idea. He's right.

The summary doesn’t do this fic justice. Neither does looking at the word count. It’s a truly fantastic read, with great characterisations and heartbreak and romance in one simple setting that goes terribly wrong.

And can I just say a little something about picayochan??? Newbie to Merlin and an author who has just poked back into fandom after not writing for years, and her writing totally hits my buttons. WELCOME, BB!!! Keep writing, OMG! I adore your style.
