Congrats to all the winners! I'm so pleased to see so many of my favourite fics and ART!!! in the winners circle. Awesomesauce.

In other news, the cold season has hit my household. I'm finally dragging myself out of it after a week of feeling horrible. :/ It's March Break here, so YAY the kids are home! and sick. :/

In other, other news: MEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! fjdsfjdsljdsl! Yes, the fics really are as good as everyone says. Ahahaha! And yes, I've totally broken my declaration to put off reading AUs. jfkdsjfklsdjlsd!!!! Yes, that means I read Drastically Redefining Protocol. jfdksjfklsdjl!!!! *loves* Thank you to the twenty-three people that suggested I do so. :P

:DDDDDDDD I need to get back to really reading HP fics again. I think my literacy level has gone down several notches by not having read much for like ... three weeks. That short of a time and I'm sensing the difference! Although... reading about the history of figure skating politics ... is like reading a fic, seriously. There's more drama and backstabbing and general snarkiness there than DRAco MAlfoy :).

I've read Merlin AU and even Merlin RPS before strangely—not the recced ones, but ones that randomly show up on my flist. And the later, I still have trouble remembering who is the actor of Arthur and who is Merlin :).

Three weeks of no fics!!!! PIE!!! We are going to lose you to figure skating? This cannot be! Shoves fanon!Draco in front of you and tells him to do something outrageous and sparkly.

You read Merlin AU? *snort* I admit, I've read bandom stuff that I've loved despite not knowing who the hell anyone is. Still, it's hard to appreciate without really knowing just the way a smile appears on their faces and the way Arthur says Merlin and such things.

Actually, one this I really LOVE about Merlin fics (both AU and non) is that I know what my Arthur and my Merlin look like. *cough* see icon.

It might sounds silly, but DR and TF are not 'my' Harry and Draco, so with HP fic, that bit is always a bit of a mystery to me and changes with every fic and it's sometimes hard to really get a good picture in my head what the boys look like for that fic. I LOVE that that never happens with Merlin fic. Also, Merlin AUs esp: Drastically Redefining Protocol, actually read like an RPS to me. Which is totally fun. meh, I can't really explain it.

No worries! For all I care, the interviews I'm reading pretty much reads like H/D fanfics.

Proof? This is all from the one interview I have in an open window and what it said...

He's lean and sinewy at five-foot-nine, and his most striking feature is his pouty bottom lip, the kind you want to bite, that anchors a top shelf of perfectly aligned, ice-white teeth. A brush of eyelashes frame kind, wide green eyes set off by a straight, serious set of eyebrows and a square jawline. He's beautiful. .... His dark hair flies around his eyes.

See? That's practically Fanon!Harry! (And the attitude that comes with Mr Weir = Fanon!Draco. I didn't believe Fanon!Draco can be realistic in any way until I read about him.)

And yeah, DR and TF are far from my imagination; I do have a sketchy look for them in my mind though—a little like Harry and Draco from Lilithium, really, all watercolours and quiet but burning passion. I think in some ways this is why I can't quite immerse myself in TV / movie show type fandom; in a way I want my characters to be restricted to what my mind conjures. I know I would be all sadfaced when the RL person doesn't live up to the expectation I have for him as his character. I was all right with reading Colin/Bradley RPS because I didn't know anything about them and so it almost read like original slash. I have yet to read a single skater!fic and doesn't really have the drive to do so. :))

No, you totally should ramble!!! I love it when my friends get all excited about things. There can never be enough happiness and SQUEE on my flist!

Hahahaha, I know! It's crazy, isn't it? I'm up to 12 fics I want to read again and again. It'll be cool to see which fics grabbed us. :D This is so neat falling in love at THE SAME TIME! <3
