Well, the result is a diverse and entertaining collection of kinks and tropes and good reads. I'm so impressed. I think this collection is the best of the fest. pthon challenge seven, if you are interested. anyone can vote, but you can also just read for the porn. ;)
In other news:
What I didn’t love first: When you play with a mystery plot and play it so that no one can figure out the details you have to be careful when you do end up telling the audience everything that you cleverly kept from them, that you don’t end up choking the audience on exposition. The flashback to Matt giving Jackson the camera was well done. And Matt revealing how he died? FUUUUCK that was heartbreaking. And I don’t even like Matt. But it went on way too long with Matt needing to tell Scott all the details all in the same scene (so much exposition ... )
I suppose that is the price of only 13 episodes. And really the only reason I’m complaining is because the quality of the other story telling made me expect a bit of a softer hand with such an important story arc.
That said, the episode left me a bit gutted. Matt’s story leaves me all panicky-freaked out. I have this drowning fear. Not of me drowning (I’m a really strong swimmer, so it's not a personal fear, idek) but of teenage drinking resulting in someone drowning. It's something that has always freaked me out. Can’t deal with parties with pools/or on decks/boats with drunk people horsing around and possibly falling into the water. Just... I’m in cold sweat thinking about it. So this backstory made me really uncomfortable. Then Gerard at the end, killing him by drowning again? I just... I wanted to vomit. D:

Other stuff:
Derek/Stiles bits were FANTASTIC. *accepts fanservice gratefully*
Allison being kick ass? Fantastic. It had a nice build up over the last few eps, a natural direction for her character and I’m looking forward to her journey through this.
Also Scott’s mom. The look on her face when she saw Scott. ;_; oh god. D: I love that she knows! Reveals are important! \o/ but also hearbreaking.
I love that Scott’s been stripped of both his mom and Allison in one ep.
I love that papa stiles believed his son (and scott) enough to go to the police station. even if it meant the entire police force got wiped out. Maybe he’ll get his job back! (too soon?)
Jackson... I have too many feelings on his character journey right now. I like Nick’s thoughts here though. Jackson. You are so messed up. They better keep you around for a long, long time because I want you to figure yourself out. ;_;
