why do chicken drumsticks take so long to thaw? I mean seriously...

My house in about 30 minutes:
Hi, honey. Welcome home. Here's some salmonella. Sorry about that, you see I was busy getting ready for hp_kinkfest and forgot to get the drumsticks out of the freezer. but it'll be safe to eat eventually, here's some filthy porn while you wait.

Oh, put those thighs in the microwave! Also, highly unlikely you'll get salmonella from thighs cooked from frozen because they're so tiny. Even from frozen they'll cook in less than an hour.

See my culinary skills? Cooking all the things from frozen!

Actually, they are drumsticks. LOL (I don't know why I said thighs other then my utter frustration). They are pretty big, and packed tight so that's why they are taking so long to thaw, even in water.

BUT they are finally in the oven!

Do you really cook everything from frozen? :)

I frequently forget to defrost things. I would never cook a joint from frozen, but anything small, yes! Pork chops, chicken brests, ground beef. Often I'll give them a couple of minutes in the microwave to separate them.

Obviously, no good if you need to marinade or coat the meat, but fine for stir-fry, roast/broil.

I always boil mine first to cook off the excess fat and to make them cook faster in the oven (or on the grill). It works especially well with wings, but works great for drumsticks and thighs, too.

i broil ribs and sausages and such, but chicken only if it's bbq'd.
