Summary: The affair starts on a Thursday.
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~9000

This summary, though simple, is perfect. It represents exactly what this fic is about: an affair, simple, uncomplicated and stripped bare. It does not rip your heart out or make you ache for the injustice of it all (or at least it didn’t for me) it’s an infidelity fic that is long term and unfaltering and a simple fact of these characters lives. I know that is a huge squick for some people. If it’s not, then I recommend this read. I don’t think I’ve ever read an infidelity fic quite like this: hot and satisfying despite the inherit wrongness of infidelity.

[as a side note: I’m super behind on reading in this fest. and even further behind on commenting. I will get to commenting on all the fics I’ve recced. I just need more time in the day.]

Also, yes, infidelity!fic! I actually want to know where all the infidelity fen went this year. I know from modding hp_unfaithful that they exist. :D But so many comments on infidelity fic across the board this year seems to be from people who were dragged kicking and screaming to read. :/ This... confuses me. I've actually never seen so much willingness in general (not just this fest season) for commenters on a particular theme in fic/art to be so up front with their usual hatred for the theme, even if leaving a generally positive comment.

... I'm extra sensitive to it, though, it seems.

and YAY! infidelity! Not a lot of love for infidelity fics in H/D land. I think it's the angst factor and the risk of Ginny bashing... it's hard to find a good infidelity fic in this slice of fandom where the OTP is so strong.
