I have an empty house for the next 7 hrs and nothing to do but edit an already typed in WIP. *bounce* *bounce* bounce* Is this what heaven feels like? YES IT IS!

I've poured myself a giant mug of tea, got a quilt on my lap and complete silence all around me. Let's see if I can get this baby out the door. :D

Because people have been hinting to me that they'd like it, and next week I need to absolutely finish hd_remix and people have hp_kinkfest deadlines coming quick... Next week I'm going to run an HP 'GET SHIT DONE' campaign exactly like ella_bane's brilliant Merlin one. stolen with permission I'd like to open it on Monday? But I need a volunteer who can make the banners. I'm shit at finding pics and wording for banner so I'd really like someone who can do all the thinking for me? Let me know if you are interested. bb, it's no bother at all. They're things I can knock together in a pretty short amount of time, and besides, fucking around in photoshop is soothing to me.

Just let me know what you're looking for and I'll get some stuff together for you. When are you starting, what do you want to call it, do you want check in banners for each day, that sort of thing.

I'm pretty cool with a total rip off (as ella knows I'm blatantly stealing all her ideas, so I'm shameless at stealing your wording too...) And some very generic check in banners would be great. Maybe with McG? LOL.

Wording could be something like: International Week of Writing all the words and Getting Shit Done for the love of Potters and Malfoys.

It's not an h/d thing at all. But I do know my flist is very likely to write something with at least one Potter or one Malfoy in it.

However! making it the wording itself more inclusive is probably better. Though the pics can be of Harry and Draco, I think. :D

That seems wise to me! Though I'm sure it would be swell for H/D focused people and encourage them, it's cool to encourage more widely as well.

I can't remember what fest it was that I was convinced was -- I think I thought it was Harry/Scorpius ONLY, when someone noted it accepted all cross-gen pairings. I think the mod's mentions of scenarios only included one pairing, and so I shrugged and moved on.'

ANYWAY! Yay for encouragement (and possible ass-kicking) to finish fics!

Oh, I don't think so. Wasn't that one meant to be somewhat more limited in pairing from the start (Draco + one of the sons, or Harry + one of this sons)? It seemed pretty clear and inclusive within its own limits.

I can't remember which fest I saw, but it was one that was supposed to be all pairings, het, slash, femslash, etc., etc. But I seriously thought it was a Harry/Scorpius fest for a time given the way it was promoted. :D

Yes, it's will be open to all HP writing. It's great because you can post snippets if you like (er... I guess not for the anon stuff) but yeah... get general encouragement from other people that are desperate to focus on writing too, with daily check ins for word counts and list of people that finished! The Merlin was is very motivating. (though I should be writing right now! lol)

I'm not yet a member of the comm, and I'd feel weird calling people over to my thing without ever actually having participated in any of the word wars stuff. (Word wars are great! but they don't work with the way I write).

Also, just so you know, this isn't an HD specific thing. HD is welcome, of course. But I don't want to give you the wrong impression, I'm just looking for a way to encourage a few HP folks to get writing. :)

I completely understand that it's not H/D specific. That's no problem at all. Yes, the hd2o comm is but I do know some members of course write for other pairings etc. As far as I know, it's even ok to count those things in the word counts for the word wars as well. I think it's great to affiliate or participate with general HP fandom groups and activities.

Of course I don't mind making the posts over there if you'd rather, but you shouldn't feel wierd posting there if you want to since you've been invited to do so!

Also do you know about what time you'll be posting your check in post each day? No biggie if you don't know. I just wanted to post a link to it each day when it went up.

Also, word wars aren't the only thing we do at hd2o. It's mainly just about encouraging writer's in any way we can. I'm constantly looking for new activites to do! When I first saw the Merlin campaign, I thought it was a great idea! I'm just really excited that you are running an HP one!

I haven't decided entirely about my timing. But knowing my schedule 9am EST is when I like to post. :)

I'll post the first post on Monday at 9 am, announcing everything and providing the coding for the banners. (I don't have them all yet)

Then I'll likely post my check ins at 9am too... again just because it works for me, though probably isn't the best time in general. When I post the check in, I'll include the code for you to grab for those banners, too. :D

What's a "Get Shit Done" campaign?
I mean, the title kind of speaks for itself, but I want to know MOAR ! :D

Well, I'm just directly copying the MErlin one. At basically you comment on the first day with 'something' you are working on, either art or fic that you want to get done (or to a certain point) by then of the week.

You can include a snippet or a scan of your WIP. People can comment as they like to encourage you along.

Then every day there is a check in where you let people know if your word counts gone up, or offer a new scan of your work.

Obviously for anon fests, you can't be doing snippets. But I'm hoping that this will still work if people are vague enough! *g*

But the Merlin one is really working (http://ella-bane.livejournal.com/tag/write%20all%20the%20words). I got my fic done and sent off to beta today! *\o/*
