mmm tea...

We're watching season six at the mo - and I had forgotten how freaking FUNNY Spike is! Normally, I think of season six from a spuffy point of view, and don't watch the Willow episodes that make me sad, but I am loving all this Spike character development time I had forgotten about!

e.g. this *points to icon* one liner from All The Way.

Sadly, I am still one of those fen a bit bitter over season 6 and 7. heh. I hardly know why anymore. Maybe it's time I purchased those dvds (I was boycotting!) and bury my annoyance.

God, it was so easy to get caught up in what we WANTED to happen in those seasons that it was hard to enjoy what did happen, while it happened.

Kinda like hating the epilogue of doom, I suppose. :D

I actually really enjoy seasons six and seven - I wasn't in fandom when Buffy was airing, and we were so far behind here in the UK and the BBC kept screwing around with air times etc that I don't think I had seen more than a handful of episodes from six and seven before I got the DVDs. So, I started watching them without any expectations really.

And whilst there is a lot I don't really like about how various bits of plot/characters develop, there is lots I like as well. And I really enjoy Spike's character arc in these seasons (hell, in the whole show!) and James Marsters is just exquisite when playing the morally ambiguities of his character.

In conclusion, while there is a lot of meh about these seasons, I think there is a lot to like too...
