Scorpius is a fascinating, slightly disturbed, total control freak that is utterly out of control. The relationship with Harry is just as naughty and complicated and painful as a cross gen should be and even more so given Scorpius' issues.

It is five chapters in. Each chapter gets better and better. Go. Enjoy.

edited to add: squick warning! I almost forgot. Anyone with certain pairing combo issues (you know who you are) may want to be careful with this one.

It was meant as a warning to accioscar and her inter-family-pairings squicks. I need to find better super sekkrit messaging, I think.

Everytime I see your icon it makes me think of rickey_a's birthday greeting to me in which that dove sends me his love. :D

I started reading the fic, and though I adored the hotness, I can see the sizzle comes from the age difference and the forbidden nature of that sort of relationship. I think I appreciate H/D more (in general!) as a pairing, because there's more history between them, and therefore more built-in conflict. With Harry and Scorpius, or any next gen pairing, it's like a blank book. Which isn't bad at all, but it's more like original fic than fanfic, so it doesn't ring my fanfic bells as much.

Hmmm, I may have to post about this...

But ... is this the name the dove has in the movie? I am still wondering where such a scene and a dove would fit into the HBP movie. Or is it the name Rickey or you gave it? You must have seen Dyson's story about it, of course, where its name is Harry ;-).

And the other Harry/Scorp ... um ... Lessons in Scheming and Seduction. That one screams ACCIOSCAR! DONT READ ME! :D

But Accio Romance is just fine for you. and I HIGHLY recommend it.

I think you are right, with all the Next Gen pairings you get a bit of original fiction not as much 'history'. But there also is a lot of 'history' in a way.

The forbidden nature of Harry/Scorp has a lot to do with who Harry is (which is obvious) but also where Scorpius comes from, how he was raised, how his father and his grandfather feel about Harry which is (or isn't) ingrained in Scorpius.

The lure of Harry/Scorpius is not unlike that of Snarry. There is a rivalry there that trancends generations. A 'history' that exists even before the two meet. Harry/Scorpius lets you build their dynamic from scratch but it also give you a lot to build on.

We named it Kate in homage to rickey's Romeo series (where all Draco's owls are Shakespearean characters.)

I chose Kate from Taming of the Shrew. :D

I haven't read Dyson's story!!! I've got my hear buried in fests and I'm missing everything. *Goes off to read*

OH MY GOD. You haven't been reading this? It is SOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking hot! I'm addicted to this story. I've been shamelessly begging snarkyscorp to write more and fangirling all over her in a most pathetic way. Plus engaging in way too serious meta-discussions about Scorp's motivation. Oh good it's your name. I don't think I could have handle movie!HBP with Draco talking to a dove named after Katie Bell.

Kate from Taming of the Screw is so fitting. But let's not have doves with wrung necks in that movie either.

I've only been reading the Harry/Scorpius that get posted on my flist or on hp_cross_gen. I just assumed that was it.

1. you are totes right about no Kate-named birds for Malfoy, Vaysh.
2. THis icon actually makes me think of your fic. I know Draco is the phoenix/bird and doesn't have a pet bird in we are legend, but still, it kind of connects for me.
3. and it also makes me think of the owl series by byblythe which I can't be arsed to look up and link you to right now but you can find it. It is the best non-smutty h/d story I have ever read. [thinks about that...could that really be true?] Yes. [stands by answer]
