This will be my last Fall Fest rec, I think. hd_inspired has now finished posting. Reveals are Sunday. The next fest I'll be following is hp_cross_fest and I’m not sure if I’ll being doing weekly/bi-weekly recs for that. I might post a poll to see if there is any interest. I know most of you are strictly HD fans. Though my crusade to convert you all to cross-gen is going well. *smirk*

Anyway, it’s been lovely. On to the recs!

Title: Bed of Roses ♥ ♥
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, Harry/Ginny (possibly implied but in no way explicit - Miss Weasley gets no screen time in this movie!)

Summary: It’s the Hogwarts Reunion and there’s only one way to survive: Getting drunk!
Warnings: EWE; some swearing/cussing; man-on-man sexin (obviously! ;D); features drunk!Draco, bottom!Draco, sarcastic!Draco, jealous!Draco and slightly Hermione-like!Draco (but don’t tell him I said that!); the Harry/Ginny implication kinda leads to implied infidelity - but it really depends how you look at it. (In my head, at least, Harry is not really with Ginny - everyone just assumes he is.)

This fics was equal parts humour, angst and romance. Draco drunk at a Hogwarts reunion is a guaranteed good read. y/y?

Title: Just Short of Peace ♥ ♥ ♥
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Rating: PG-15
Summary: There were places that Harry hated to go, even after the hours of work put into trying to clean up the carnage left behind after the war.
Warnings (if any): It’s sort of dark, but otherwise, none.
Total word count: ~6000
This is a wonderfully written piece that really takes the reader through the healing of two very broken boys. Incredibly moving.


Title: Negotiations
Pairing(s): Draco/Harry; Harry/OFC (past); Ron/Hermione; others
Rating: PG-15-ish
Summary: Harry Potter always had two left feet and when the Conference of Ministries is held at Hogwarts, he finds himself unable to escape the dancing. To his horror, the only one who can teach him is Draco Malfoy, the resident Potions Master.
Warnings: Humour; snark; a tiny bit of angst; scheming Headmistresses; (hopefully not too irritating) OCs; fake accents of all kinds; and what the cat is doing there I have yet to figure out.
Total word count: ~46,000
I found the concept of the negotiations through dance in this fic fascinating. The push-pull of the dance and the entire dynamic of Harry/Draco was well worth the read.


Title: Scenes from the Beginning to the End ♥ ♥ ♥

Summary: Nobody expected Draco Malfoy to take on the tutoring of Harry Potter at the start of a new year in Hogwarts, but he does anyway… and he swears that it has nothing to do with Potter’s green eyes. Not everything can stay strictly business.

The voice of this fic made it one of my favourites. I say ‘voice’ because it felt to me like I was being narrated to. The author’s style and tone put Draco’s bitter/frustrated/helpless voice in my head perfectly. While the premise and the plot was an hd archetype (Draco must tutor Harry), the way it was told really impressed me beyond all my expectations.

Summary: They meet the summer after the war at Hogwarts. One, wishing the world could stop for one minute and he could hide away. The other hoping for a new start and the ability to move forward. In each other, they may just find the strength to build themselves back up, along with the shattered walls of Hogwarts.
Warnings (if any): EWE assumed, harsh language, some angst and nudity.

Very sweet story. Fun flying, fun in the mud, fun in the shower… it’s all good.

Summary: Substitute DADA Professor Harry Potter finds himself facing off against Potions Professor Draco Malfoy once more. This time the stakes are higher than ever - it's the staff Strip Poker night at Hogwarts! After a couple of rounds of cards and a couple of rounds of Firewhiskey, everyone but Trelawney and Malfoy have had to take something off. Then Harry starts to lose every hand. In no time at all, he's down to his black silk pants and wizards hat. And just when it seems Malfoy's smirk couldn't possibly get smirkier and Harry might have to bare all (in front of McGonagall omg), Harry's luck miraculously turns, and the losing streak turns on Malfoy. Or maybe there's nothing of chance at all in that losing streak ...
Warnings: Cross-dressing, a bit of nudity
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! This is absolutely made of WIN. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with how this prompt was executed.

Summary: An educational experiment turns disastrous.

This fic is intense. It has an amazing premise, a wonderful plot, terrific description of magic – the story hums with magic. The next generation of kids and seeing Harry’s generation as parents was wonderfully done. A great read.
